IMPORTANT: All required documentation & registration process must be completed by Friday, May 30, 2025 in order for your child to begin on the first day of school. Space is limited, please contact our Preschool Office for further information.
Registrations completed after May 30, 2025 might begin after the first day of school.

IS MY CHILD ELIGIBLE FOR A CA STATE PRESCHOOL?
Sanger Unified Preschool offers CA State Preschool Programs (CSPP), which are provided at no-cost to eligible families.
California State Preschool Program (CSPP)
Del Rey, Jefferson, Lincoln, Lone Star, and Wilson.
Eligibility for CSPP is based on the documentation and verification of ONE of the following:
- At-risk of abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation
- Child Protective Services (CPS)
- Homelessness
- Current Government Benefits Recipient (CalWorks, Medi-Cal, WIC, CalFresh, etc)
- Income Eligible (Click here to see the current guidelines)
- Children with exceptional needs (active IEP required)
- Reside within the attendance boundary of: Del Rey, Jefferson, Lincoln, and, Wilson.
Your child must be 3 or 4 years old at the time of enrollment. For the 2024–25 school year, child must have their 3rd birthday on or before December 1st, 2024. Your child should be able to go to the bathroom independently.
If you don’t meet CSPP eligibility and are not age eligible for Transitional Kinder, we do have District Funded Preschool available at Sequoia, John Wash, and, Jackson. (Parent Participation is required for District Funded Schools).

Steps to Apply for Preschool
Step 1: Make sure you have a working email address.
You can obtain an email address for free from services such as Google GMail, Microsoft Outlook, or Yahoo! Mail.
Step 2: Collect the following documents:
- Birth Record for preschool student
- Birth records for all siblings, under the age of 18, living in the home.
- Current Proof of Residence – Utility, PG&E, cable TV statement or rental agreement.
- Note: If living with another family in our attendance area, please do the following:
- Download the Declaration of Residency form here.
- Complete the parent/guardian portion of the form.
- Obtain the homeowner’s/tenant of record’s signature & ID.
- Note: If living with another family in our attendance area, please do the following:
- Immunization Record for preschool student must include the following:
- 3 Polio
- 4DTaP
- 1 HIB
- 3 Hepatitis B
- 1 MMR (on or after 1st birthday)
- 1 Varicella
- Documentation of TB Test or TB Risk Assessment completed within 1 year. If doctor requires a template, please click here for the TB Risk Assessment form.
- Current Physical for preschool student dated within 1 year. If doctor requires a template, please click here for Physical form.
- Proof of Income for the previous 30 days for each parent. Please click here for required income documentation.
- Government issued photo ID: state ID, driver license or passport for parent/legal guardian
